Kathleen Corbiere is a young Ojibway woman from M'Chigeeng First Nation. She began her love of drawing at a very young age. Kathleen likes to experiment with her artwork by combining traditional Ojibway techniques with Japanese Manga techniques. She is self-taught but looks forward to the day when she can attend school in Japan and learn new Manga techniques from her idol Ramiko Takahashi.
She was the Ojibway Cultural Foundations Young Artist Award Winner for 2008 and 2009. She placed First in Manitoulin's Artistic Fusion 2010 and her artwork was displayed in various museums across Manitoulin. She has designed a t-shirt logo for the M'Chigeeng HBHC Fun Run in 2010.
Kathleen is also an avid archer and has won the Ontario Association of Archers Gold Medallist Cadet Female Compound 2010, the Ontario 3D Championship and the Gold Medal Cadet Female Compound 2010 Ontario Triple Crown. She has also competed nationally where she won the Federation of Canadian Archers Bronze Cadet Female Compound 2010 Canadian 3D Championships.
